When discerning about possible matchups for the 2012 NBA Finals or any title fight series in sports, the unsurpassed games often come from the common situation of good against evil.

What better agents of good and evil are there in the NBA playoffs other than the Oklahoma City Thunder and Miami Heat? They are good examples to this.

Take Oklahoma City, for instance—a baby-faced, fledgling team built from a base of team chemistry and hard work. Steered by Kevin Durant, a sports icon who doesn’t show-off like one, the Thunder team is a tough team to dislike on unless they have done something particular to annoy you.

Then you have the Miami Heat—the lineup built through a significant offseason of procurements where talents were occupied to South Beach, forming an outrageous trio of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. Since James’ leaving from Cleveland, he has often been measured as a villain and that has interpreted into the Miami team as a full team. The way they pay is also monstrous.

Both of these teams are in station to move forward to their corresponding conference finals, which would be the next step in preparing the stage for what could possibly be an NBA Finals battle of the ages.

Over the previous few seasons, there hasn’t been much diversity as to the Finals matchups. In 2006 and 2011 we saw the Mavericks battling the Heat. In 2008 and 2010 we saw the Lakers battling the Celtics. In 2009 it was the Lakers again, but this time fighting the Magic.

Don’t get me mistaken—some of those series were very persuasive and made for some entertaining basketball to watch, but it’s time for a new period of competitions and maybe even empires and that begins with Oklahoma City playing full-throttle against the Miami Heat.

The NBA has been missing a typical good-versus-evil narrative in the Finals since the past few years have always had normally pleasant teams in the Finals. Take the Celtics vs. Lakers matchups, for instance. These are two significant franchises with very supportive fans for each. Except you were an admirer or an opposition of the Celtics or Lakers, there were actually no explanations to hate either team with a passion.

Things are dissimilar for the Miami Heat. I’m not attempting to be a hater on Miami here, but it is truly not a pleasant team. External of Florida, this team may get a slice of bandwagon admirers, but there are still ample of NBA fans that have a robust bitterness towards the Heat since they fundamentally constructed a championship-stature team in instant. This rapid rise to eminence scrubbed a lot of people the erroneous way, particularly conservatives who believe teams should be built gradually through recruiting and evolving players.

Oklahoma City, alternatively, was constructed from the ground up. Its fundamental is consisting of clever draft picks and the bench is profound with cunning and low-cost free-agent pickups by GM Sam Presti.

The Thunder team is fundamentally everything the Heat is not. They are a fresh, innocent team that plays with a silent composure. The Heat team is a prevailing team full of experienced person who are fiery forces on the court and they will let you see throughout the games.

These polar contraries are what fans want to observe, and the finest part about these teams is that both of them are very, very worthy basketball teams starving for a championship.
